You know you have ADHD when you can bounce from posting five days a week consistently to just saying “fuck it” and taking a five week pause.

So many people I know live beautiful lives, whether online or offline, but it seems like there’s a crossroads in which some choose one, and some choose the other, or its hard to maintain both.

While I’m a creative to the core and make beauty (intentionally!) with everything, everywhere, and enjoy making content to support this pursuit, the whole ‘sales’ aspect of living even part of my life online is utterly draining.

Who wants to convince people to give a shit about them? Not I!!!

On the other hand, I love convincing people to give a shit about things and people and concepts/ideas/movements.

INTENTION is my mantra for the rest of the year— easier said than done.

You can continue to expect cute special events and dinners curated to bring people and scenes together, thought provoking news/link analysis, useful product recommendations, and signature Ranty McRants, but you might not get them with the consistency I somehow managed to muster for the last six months, because part of me lives offline, too 😜.

Is this a clue as to why I took a break from my own content channels? It should be. After another few years of concerning/escalating symptoms, I’m realizing how precisely chronic and persistent this disease actually is.

Chances are you know quite a few people who have Endometriosis, it’s about half as prevalent as diabetes, for example.

Luckily, freelance writing gives me the space and autonomy to actually take care of my health (finances and stability are another story, lol) and I’m doing my best.

I have said in a few of these that it’s my 10 year writing anniversary this year, but it was in July. To celebrate a decade of pursuing truth, beauty, and bud, here’s 10 of my proudest links!

There was a piece about the wild weed of NYC, but this one found the first ever cannabis mention in The Brooklyn Daily Eagle was on 4/20 🗽

I loved that this seemingly NBD thing I wrote for a tiny weed pub got syndicated all over the country (so did one about hangovers 🙃) because I strongly feel that it was a turning point in cannabis coverage. ☄️

What’s more fun than your stylist friend (KIKA!) setting up your outfits for NYFW? Remember that? Haven’t been in years!

This was one of my proudest moments as a writer, and it wasn’t even about weed, but about my father. It was a time where I started to finally write about that complicated relationship as a way to process it all. ⚡️

Remember when Seattle Times used to scoop up my weed hack recipes? I miss hacking viral foods to add cannabis, but I don’t miss getting paid like crap to do it.

Another year, another 10 followers. After writing this I still feel like shadowbans on both IG and TT are discriminatory and shitty. One day it will come out how they just decided people shouldn’t have freedom, but should have skinny tea and medical study ads.

SEO is king in cannabis writing, and I’m glad the king decreed that I look into my favorite wizard and his herbals.

Stories like this show what’s possible when you actually allow writers to explore topics—we start to un-puzzle the Rubik’s cube.

Wrote this AGES AGO and we are still tossing plastic by the boatload. The environmental impact of prohibition is still enormous, and now throw in childproofing and scent proofing and we’re still using the worst materials possible to package and transport weed.

The website that this was published on is gone, and people just keep deleting archives which is pretty fucked up, so RIP to more of my work, but here’s one of the first reviews of Scarr’s Pizza. I’m so proud of how they’ve grown all these years and was so stoked to have a chance to review their pizza early in the game. Enjoy the OG google doc!
