What are we avoiding?

For folks with ADHD, like me, drifting off into your thoughts is a constant. Learning how to avoid and dodge that pile of brainpower is what got most of us through school, or now as adults, gets us through the day.

Staying locked in is important (somewhat), but why avoid your dreams? You don’t have to know what they are, what they mean, and where they’re going to let them lead you. Even dreamers can take themselves too seriously, and that’s where communication comes in.

Learning to break the silence and speak what needs to be said into reality is hard for anyone, neurodivergent or otherwise, but when we stay quiet, we sometimes suffer, or someone else does. Be brave enough to not be afraid to be wrong, or to show joy, or sadness. Honesty (with empathy) is an unpolished but glamorously disheveled place to be sometimes.

Before I let you loose like a hot feral rodent on the summer streets with over a THIRTY different PRIDE, weed, wine, FOOD, music, LEARNING, activism and art events— do me a solid and stop avoiding just one thing this summer. 💐

Pleasure seeking, Pain Avoiding, and Pretty Ugly Vibes

Hot traumatized rodent summer! In rat models, trauma was passed down family lines even without direct exposure to traumatic events. YIKES! Once again, indigenous communities have….told us so.

Give me coconut or give me….dearth of coconut! I wish I was in LA to finally fall for some smoothie/Erewhon marketing. After the Bieber thing and some other expensive attempts, this one lands firmly in my wheelhouse of COCONUT obsession and trending beverage trial willingness. But seriously, Vacation is and has been one to watch in the CPG/experiential shared space, eschewing the boring and wasteful, they’re doing smart and impactful collabs that MAKE SENSE for their brand.

I’m not gonna tell kids they look bad, I’ll leave that for braver and maybe less tuned in journos. I will say sauce stains and no deo are…a bridge too far? What do I know, having been outright contorted to the abhorrent beauty standards of the 90s, 00s, and 10s before saying F U to do whatever I want. If you’re not willing to at least let folks do their thing though….you missed all the lessons your tortures tried to teach you!
